Off-road, Hub, Guided
Imagine immense mountains, deep glacier-torn canyons, and the world's largest trees, all found in the southern Sierra Nevada mountain range. Ride scenic dirt roads, narrow trails with stream crossings, and razor tight switchbacks, from the desolate rugged high desert to the lush Sequoia forest. This tour is a truly awesome off-road motorcycle adventure - and it is only a four-hour drive from Los Angeles or San Francisco.
This hub tour starts at Lake Isabella. We will take you to the most southern tip of Sequoia Forest, the Piutes Mountains and the Greenhorn Mountains, where you can find significant evidence of mining history. This is a dirt bikers dream with some trails like you would only expect in Colorado. Truly a highlight of your trip will be the visit to one of the Sequoia groves. Another great sightseeing stop will be an open air museum allowing you to experience the local life style throughout the last century and a half. Trails often have steep inclines and declines with rocks and boulders, ledges and tree roots. We might take you to peaks of almost 10’000 feet elevation with tremendous views of the Great Western Divide, the Sierra Mountains including Mt. Whitney. The area offers great summer dirt bike riding. The skies are typically crystal clear with temperatures around 75 degrees in average elevation.
This is a fun off-road motorcycle tour for intermediate rider level. The guides have some options to adjust the route to the groups riding level but there are more technical trails than easy routes available. There are sections where we enjoy true single trails, other areas we will zip along curvy back roads. We will spend the nights in a hotel on the shore of Lake Isabella. Each tour is accompanied by lead and sweep rider, equipped with tools, first Aid kit, GPS and satellite phone. Two up riding is not possible.
Under special use permit from Sequoia National Forest. We operate on a non-discriminatory basis.
Highlights: Alpine landscape, Lake Isabella, Kern River, Sequoia forest, challenging mountain trails, creek crossings, gold rush history, open air museum, fire lookout towers, gorgeous scenery!
