Itinerary
|
Day 1: You will fly in on a chartered plane from Las Vegas and land on the private air strip of the Bar 10 Ranch. After a hearty cowboy style breakfast, it's off to your first Grand Canyon overlook. This days ride offers many "Kodak" moments, so be sure to bring your camera! You will visit one of the historic buildings in the area and learn a bit about the history of this remote part of the country. After your ride, enjoy a horseback ride or relax at the ranch and enjoy free time activities.
Day 2: This is the longest day, at 100 miles (160 km) round-trip. After breakfast at 7:30, you will ascend into the pine forest on your way to one of the most breath-taking viewpoints of the Grand Canyon, where you can stand with your toes on the edge of a 1,800 foot drop. That’s right - no guard rails of any kind!!! We will also stop off at a large rock formation that is rich in Indian petroglyphs. In the afternoon, enjoy ranch activities, such as ranch demonstration, pistol shooting, skeet shooting (shot gun), and free time activities (horseshoes, hiking, volleyball, table tennis, nature center, etc). After a ranch style dinner, we'll roast s'mores around the campfire.
Day 3: We will visit yet another spot from which to view the majestic Grand Canyon, but this viewpoint is much lower in elevation than the previous ones, allowing you to see greater detail deep in the canyon. In addition, everyone gets a kick out of hearing their voice reflect off the walls of nearby Echo Canyon. We will finish off the day playing around on some fun fire roads. You'll depart in the early afternoon from the Bar 10 Ranch on your way back to civilization in Las Vegas.
This tour is 100% on dirt roads but for what it lacks in single track trails, it more than makes up for it with its stunning landscape, ample good food, and cowboy style hospitality!
Note: We reserve the right to make changes.
