tour details pricing and dates day by day itinerary photos
This fully guided dual sport tour takes you off the main highway so you can enjoy views of high cliffs and canyon walls as you wind your way through the desert. In the evening you will enjoy the camaraderie of our small group around a Western campfire surrounded by covered wagons, just 9 miles off the Grand Canyon Rim. Guest rooms are available in the Ranch House Lodge or in covered wagons. This unique Dude Ranch is 75 miles from the nearest paved road and offers great family activities including ATV rental and air transportation to Las Vegas.

This unforgettable journey will take you to a ranch, 80 miles from the nearest town, where there are no crowds, no guardrails and stunning views of the Grand Canyon as far as the eye can see! Most of the areas on this tour are so remote and inaccessible that only a handful of people get to see these scenic overlooks and historic points. Snacks, bottled water and beverages will be provided each day during the tour. This tour is 100% off-road riding on fast jeep roads, forest trails, historic desert roads with sandy sections and rocky terrain through the mountains.

DAY BY DAY

Day 1:
Mesquite - Mount Logan Area

Today we will travel through a very remote area where you will experience both the desert and the wooded mountain areas. Roads in this area were established in the early 1900s when the region was used for cattle ranching, and some have not been used for years. The riding will be challenging but not very technical, and will afford spectacular views of mountains, desert, and canyons.

Day 2 & 3:
to Grand Canyon and back
On days 2 (and 3 - you choose the number of days you want to stay) we will ride through the stunning and rugged desert to several viewpoints of the Grand Canyon. The routing will be determined by the skill level and wishes of the riders. Two of the highlights will be Whitmore Point, which provides a 360-degree panoramic vista of the Grand Canyon and Parashant Canyon, where there is an early 1900s copper mine. You will also be able to view the Colorado River unobstructed by guardrails or fences as it flows down the canyon. We will also visit the old Mount Trumble schoolhouse from the turn of the century (part of an active farming and ranching town), and from there we will ascend Mount Trumble to an elevation of 7,800 feet. If you choose, you may also ride partway into the canyon and hike the remainder of the trail to the bottom.

During the daily rides to the Grand Canyon, there will be no lunch stops, as there are no restaurants in the area. The guide will provide snacks and refreshments during the day.

Overnight accommodations include thirteen Conestoga covered wagons with double mattresses and six dormitory-style rooms inside the lodge.

Final Day (day 3 or 4):
Return to Mesquite

Return ride through very remote areas where you will again experience many dramatic changes in landscape. The riding will be challenging and will afford stunning views of mountains, desert and canyons.

The tour will end with a farewell dinner in Mesquite. We recommend staying in Mesquite overnight and taking the shuttle to Las Vegas the next morning. Let us know your preference and we will help you arrange additional lodging for the post-tour night in Mesquite.

Note: We reserve the right to make changes during the course of the tour.
